What We’re About

WHERE WE GOT OUR NAME

Originally a mild British euphemism used in the medical staffing world, a “locum” or “locum tenens” is a person who temporarily fulfills the duties of another. These professionals are still governed by their respective fields and/or regulatory bodies, despite the transient or freelance nature of their positions.

As a result, Locum Integration, LLC seeks to address and solve the locum tenens structural and market inefficiencies inherent in modern IT program and project management staffing. Locum has been actively doing this since October 2013.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Because Locum Integration’s founders started off their careers as “hands-on” IT Project Managers, they have a keen sense of what it takes to actually run a project in the real world, under real world conditions – and deliver it on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of the client or customer.

“We’re not here to polish the shovel,” says the Locum founders, “we’re here to roll up our sleeves and dig in.”

Locum Integration is able to offer sophisticated, high-performance solutions that integrate seamlessly into any IT infrastructure because of their strategic alliances with other technology leaders. These mutually beneficial partnerships deliver customer value that’s impossible to achieve with either party working alone, beginning with initial installation and continuing throughout the project life cycle. That relationship with both customers and vendors alike has led us to the following truth:

“Miscommunication is endless.”

One of our founders is quoted all over the web for saying in three words, what happens when words and messages are miscommunicated. This is why Locum Integration prides itself on clear, concise communication to all stakeholders, subcontractors, and parties involved regardless of the current state of the project, from inception through completion and beneficial use.

THE PMO

A PMO is a project management office – or an entity which typically manages the roll-out and implementation of a technology or IT project. A PMO may consist of a whole company, often referred to as a systems integrator; or it may just consist of two or three really smart guys who’ve got it handled and can manage the rollout and implementation of a project.

More typically, the PMO consists of people whose jobs are to track scope, schedule, and budget – the three pillars that Locum Integration lives and dies by. They may or may not actually go out and deploy the project hands-on; more typically, they manage the various vendors and subcontractors on a typical IT or technology project.

Think of a PMO as the center of a “star configuration” – where everyone working on a project report to and through the center of the star – the PMO. One point of contact for everyone involved.

WHAT WE’RE KNOWN FOR

Locum is known for highly experienced project managers and program managers. We pride ourselves on gray hair, years of experience, and the ability to see around corners and anticipate issues – all traits and characteristics of seasoned 20+ year experienced PMs.

All of our project managers have multi-sector experience, and Locum does something different than other IT-PMO companies.

We identify our team members’ strengths and have embraced the idea of the “hand-off” – the idea that a project may be best served by having more than one IT project manager during different phases of its deployment and implementation.

In addition to that protocol, Locum can also task a PM with the entire life-cycle of the project if that’s what you prefer.
